APC Criticizes Atiku's Pursuit of President Tinubu's Academic Records

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed disapproval of the actions taken by the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, in seeking President Bola Tinubu’s academic records. This move follows the release of President Tinubu’s academic records by the Chicago State University (CSU) as per the order of Judge Nancy Maldonado of the United States District Court for Northern Illinois.

In an interview with The Punch on Tuesday, the APC National Publicity Director, Bala Ibrahim, accused Atiku of suffering from ‘post-election defeat disorder,’ characterizing him as a serial loser. He regarded Atiku’s request for CSU to release Tinubu’s academic records as a futile endeavor and suggested that the PDP has not yet come to terms with Atiku’s loss in the presidential election.

Ibrahim asserted that Nigerians have rejected the opposition party due to years of mismanagement and advised the former vice president to step away from politics. He stated, “We have said times without number that the PDP and Atiku are suffering from ‘defeat disorder syndrome.’ The next thing for them to do now is to file another application at the court asking for the number of times Tinubu attended lectures at the Chicago State University.”

He further criticized the PDP for refusing to accept defeat and advised Atiku to retire from public life. “Remember, Nigerians voted them out. They refused to accept it and went to court. The court threw them out. They refused and went abroad, where they were voted out again. Now, they are still refusing to accept. To us, it is a foregone issue. The case has been rested. Atiku should just swallow his pride and bow out of public life,” Ibrahim concluded.
