Debate Emerges Over Alleged N15 Million Donation to Late Singer Mohbad’s Family

Netizens have been left surprised by the decision of President Bola Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, to remove a post regarding the alleged donation of N15 million to the son of Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Promise Aloba, known as MohBad.

In a post on X on Thursday, Dada shared a photo of the receipt of the donation made by President Tinubu’s first son, Seyi, to MohBad’s son. The post was captioned, “The figurative apple that did not fall far from the tree. #RIPIMOLE. Thank you, ST.”

However, the post was taken down a few hours later without explanation.

Following the removal of the post, social media influencer Japhet Omojuwa posted a lengthy statement on Twitter, denying that Seyi Tinubu had donated N15 million to MohBad’s child.

Omojuwa clarified that he had been discussing the issue with Seyi Tinubu for several days and that the donation claim was untrue. He highlighted that social media could quickly politicize any action taken.

He stated that Seyi Tinubu had committed to supporting the child’s education and assisting the wife, but this would be done discreetly to avoid political exploitation.

Omojuwa emphasized that the N15 million donation claim was false and that the focus should be on supporting MohBad’s family and legacy rather than engaging in social media controversies.

As of now, President Tinubu’s son has not responded to the report circulating on social media.
