In a statement released by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the loss of this revered religious leader, emphasizing the far-reaching impact of his passing, which transcends his immediate community to affect the entire nation. He acknowledged Sheikh Argungu’s significant contributions to Islamic scholarship and his renowned advocacy for moral rectitude.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, also joins in mourning the loss of the distinguished Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abubakar Giro Argungu. Upon hearing the news of Sheikh Argungu’s demise, Abbas conveyed his heartbreak, recognizing the late preacher’s unwavering commitment to propagating Islam within and beyond Nigeria through his pulpit.

Abbas praised Sheikh Argungu for his enduring legacy in Islamic propagation, especially within the Islamic group JIBWIS, where he served as the Working Committee Chairman. He acknowledged the cleric’s invaluable guidance to Muslim youths over the years. He remembered his steadfast advocacy for the underprivileged and his dedication to holding leaders accountable for their responsibilities to the citizens.

Speaker Abbas, through his special adviser on media and publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, described the loss of the Kebbi-based Islamic scholar as deeply painful and devastating. He recognized Sheikh Argungu as one of Nigeria’s finest Islamic clerics and lamented the significant void left by his passing in the Islamic world, particularly among Nigerian Muslims.

Abbas sent heartfelt condolences to the people and government of Kebbi State, especially the residents of Argungu local government area, Sheikh Argungu’s hometown, acknowledging their profound loss. He also extended his condolences to the national leadership of the Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Nigeria, where Sheikh Argungu held a prominent position.

As we mourn the passing of this esteemed cleric, Speaker Abbas fervently prayed that Almighty Allah grant Sheikh Argungu a place in Jannatul Firdaus, the highest abode in paradise, as his final resting place.
