Again, ECOWAS Delegation Led By Ex-Military Ruler, Abdulsalami Fails To Meet Niger Junta.
The delegation led by former Nigerian Military Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd.), was received by Prime Minister Ali Lamine Zeine.
On Saturday, a delegation from the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) failed to meet the leader of the Niger military junta, General Abdourahamane Tchiani.
The delegation led by former Nigerian Military Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd.), was received by Prime Minister Ali Lamine Zeine.
Earlier in August, a team from the regional bloc ECOWAS, also led by Abubakar, left the Republic of Niger without meeting the junta leader, which seized power in a coup or the deposed President Mohamed Bazoum.

ECOWAS Delegation Arrives In Niger For Last Diplomatic Push To Resolve Crisis
According to BBC Hausa, as monitored by the news correspondent, the meeting with the representative of Niger lasted about 90 minutes.
Earlier today, Legal Attorney Blog reported that a delegation from ECOWAS had arrived in Niger in a last-ditch effort to peacefully resolve the standoff with the coup leaders in the country.
