NBA PRESIDENT’S STATEMENT ON THE COMMENTS MADE BY SENATOR ADAMU BULKACHUWA ON THE FLOOR OF THE SENATE ON JUNE 12, 2023

Dear Learned Colleague,

 I watched with utter shock and disgust the video of Senator Adamu Muhammad Bulkachuwa on the floor of the Senate on Monday, 12 June 2023, as he addressed the Senate of the 9th Assembly during its valedictory session. In his remarks, he alluded to having interfered with the due administration of justice to help his colleagues/friends.

I shall take further steps with the Police and the ICPC to ensure the matter is appropriately investigated for possible prosecution. The Nigerian Bar Association remains committed to the maintenance and defence of the integrity and independence of the Judiciary in Nigeria, and we shall continue to do this irrespective of the personalities involved.
