Five drowned in a Kano boat mishap.
In a boat mishap at Kanwa Dam in Madobi Local Government Area of the state, Kano State Fire Service has confirmed the deaths of five people.
The Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, explained that the boat conveying 11 people capsized, leading to the death of five, while 6 people were rescued.
He highlighted that the agency received a distress call from Umar Faruk-Dalada at about 05:40 p.m.

Saminu maintained that the deceased indigenes of the Fagge local government area include Abdulrazak Navara, Dalha Muktar Atamma, Mustapha Ibrahim, Umar Isah and Umar Idris.
The public relations officer pointed out that investigations into the boat mishap had commenced and charged the public to maintain safety at all times.
