Confirming the unfortunate incident, the Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi said that the information reached the headquarters at about 8:05am, Thursday that the police personnel with tag a.m./ NO 497093, attached to 15 Police Mobile Force ( PMF) Ilorin went to the Chapel of Redemption, Agba Dam Housing Estate Ilorin to commit the unexpected act.
Okasanmi said the late Micheal Olalere opened fire on the yet-to-be-identified lady before shooting himself and dying.

The Police Spokesperson in Kwara State said that the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Paul Odama, directed that the two corpses be deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital Morgue. At the same time, an investigation into the incident commences.
Okasanmi, however, maintained that the issue has nothing to do with Police brutality but a love gone sour, adding that members of the public will be duly informed as soon as the report is ready.
Nigerian Medical Association and Dental Practitioners members at the General Hospital, Ilorin, Kwara State, have commenced a two-day strike over an alleged assault on their colleague.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that the state Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association, Dr. Ola Ahmed, said the doctors were forced to down tools due to the frequent threat to their lives.
“After an emergency congress, the doctors have unanimously agreed that no doctor will work in the hospital for 48 hours. We are tired of being a punching bag by the public,” he said. Ahmed stated that a sergeant attached to the Police Mobile Force attacked and assaulted one of the doctors at the general hospital.
