JUST IN: 3 INEC Officials Abducted in Taraba

The Coordinator of Electoral Operations Supports Centre (EOSC) INEC Headquarters, Taraba State, North-East Nigeria, has confirmed the abduction of their three Ad-hoc Staff in Donga Local Government Area of the State by unknown gunmen.

The Coordinator said they received a signal report of the abduction by the INEC Electoral Officer of Donga Local Government, and the abductee’s complete information is yet to be verified.

When contacted through telephone, Police Public Relations Officer Taraba State Command, SP Usman Abdullahi, said they are yet to receive a report on the incident.

The Taraba State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) says it would temporally

close borders to ensure the forthcoming general elections are conducted peacefully.

ELECTION GOING ON SMOOTHLY IN KADUNA STATE: POLICE

State Controller of the Command, Hallid Usman Kwa (PCC), disclosed this to journalists in Jalingo

on the preparation made before Saturday’s election. He said the decision aimed to prevent the

influx of strangers and unusual movement of people in and out of the State.

Kwa said that the Command had already taken steps to re-synergize with other sister agencies to

play an influential complementary role to the lead agency, the Nigerian Police, during and after the

general elections.
