Justice Ayobode of Akure Court of Appeal is Dead

He is slumped while dressing up in his inner chamber for the court sitting.

 

A Justice of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayobode Lokulo-Sodipe, slumped and died inside his

chamber in Akure while dressing up to attend to a matter on Monday and could not be resuscitated

when the sad incident occurred.

 

The deceased, until his death, was  a Justice of the Court of Appeal and was sworn in on the 15th of

February 2008 and served in Abuja, Enugu and Benin Divisions till April 2014, when he was posted to

his present duty post.

Olujimi LokuloSodipe, a Justice of the Akure Division of the Court of Appeal, is dead.

Reports have it that among numerous positions held, including a member of the Gubernatorial/ State

Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal for Anambra and Cross River States, respectively, in 1999 and a

member of the National Assembly, Governorship and Legislative Houses Election Petitions Tribunal

for Benue State in 2003.

 

Court Of Appeal Justice Passes On

The late legal luminary was the Chairman of the Law Reporting Committee of Ogun State Judiciary from December 2001 to January 2008 and is said to be survived by a wife, Mrs Afolake Ibironke Lokulo-Sodipe, and the union is blessed with children.

 

Our correspondent further reports that a lawyer, Barrister Kunle Adeyemi, when contacted, confirmed

the sad incident, adding that the demise of Lokulo-Sodipe was a significant loss to the judiciary, adding that

it was unfortunate that he could not be resuscitated

‘’So sad. A massive loss to the Nigerian judiciary. We just lost one of our Justices of the court of appeal.

 

We learnt my Lord slumped while dressing up in his chambers for today’s matter; it was so unfortunate

that His Lordship couldn’t be resuscitated’. However, his Lordship documented his judgements masterfully and was very hardworking.

May God Almighty grant his gentle soul eternal rest. Amen.
