I am delighted to congratulate the Eastern Bar Forum (EBF) on their Quarterly Meeting commencing today, 18th August 2023 and ending on 19th August 2023, at Garden City Port Harcourt. This is a momentous occasion for the EBF, representing the interests and aspirations of lawyers from Nigeria’s South-South and South-East geopolitical zones.

The Quarterly Meeting is an opportunity for the EBF to deliberate on issues affecting the legal profession, the administration of justice, and the welfare of its members. It is also a platform for the EBF to showcase its achievements, challenges, and prospects to the wider NBA and the public. I commend the EBF for its resilience, solidarity, and vibrancy in advancing the cause of justice and the rule of law in Nigeria.

Bridget Edokwe Esq Congratulates Chief Afe Babalola SAN as he Marks 60 years of Call to Bar.

I also congratulate the incoming Governor of EBF, Aniekan Akpan Esq., who will be sworn in during the Quarterly Meeting. He is a distinguished lawyer and a seasoned administrator who has served the NBA in various capacities, including as a former Chairman and Secretary of the NBA Uyo Branch. He is a man of integrity, vision, and passion who will lead the EBF to greater heights. I wish him a successful tenure and assure him of my support and collaboration.

No doubt, the EBF has contributed immensely towards the development and growth of the legal profession in Nigeria, and I urge all of its members to participate actively in this Quarterly Meeting, and also support the incoming Governor and his team. I also call on all lawyers in Nigeria to join hands with the EBF in promoting the ideals and objectives of our noble association.

Once again, congratulations to the EBF and its new leadership.
