Nigerian Army Vows ‘Aggressive Military Operation’ Against Terrorists.
The Zamfara State Government and Nigerian Army have discussed plans aimed at putting an end to the activities of terrorists in the state. Following the meeting, the army said there would be “an aggressive military operation” in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the spokesperson for the state governor, Sulaiman Bala Idris, during a visit by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, to the governor during an official tour of the Northwest region.

After a closed-door meeting with the governor, theĀ Chief of Staff assured that there would be an aggressive military operation in the state within a few weeks.
The meeting, aimed at improving synergy and fostering ways to combat the menace of banditry in the region, was held behind closed doors.
The statement read, “The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, was on an official tour to the Northwest. While in Zamfara State, he had a closed-door meeting with Governor Lawal, where key essential security issues were discussed.
“The governor and the Chief of Army Staff brainstormed strategies to enhance military operations to restore absolute peace in the state.
“The visit by the Army Chief has indicated a sign of commitment to address the lingering insecurity. It would also boost the morale of the soldiers at the war front.
“Lieutenant General Lagbaja assured the governor that in a few weeks, there would be an aggressive military operation in Zamfara State.”
