A Nollywood actress convener of Arise Monalisa Foundation, Mrs Monalisa Chinda, has urged women to rise to achieve greatness in their various endeavours.

She called Abuja at an event Titled Equity Vs. Equality is to honour individuals and men doing great things in various vocations.

The Nollywood actress, who explained that Athe Rise Monalisa Foundation had been working towards encouraging young women to excel, urged them to take advantage of every opportunity to achieve their goals.

A filmmaker,  Mr.Zik Zulu Okafor, urged women to strive hard to take their place in nation-building.

Mr Zulu lamented that since the return of democracy in 1999, less than 200 women were elected to the national assembly compared to over a thousand hundred men, a development he said was unfair to Nigerian women.

Another Nollywood actress, Alex Okoroji, stressed the need for equal opportunity for women to achieve their dreams.

She called for a shift in perspective about women and urged them to always support each other.

Arise Monalisa Foundation has existed for a decade in the country, providing medical support services to the vulnerable and empowerment for the less privileged.
