It’s a great honour to be in your presence today; all the State governors here present, Members of the National Assembly, Hon. Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Hon. Minister, our Chief Host, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

The chief of staff and world distinguished honour a great mind; I have listened to your speech. Mr Tony Elumelu, an industrialist of our great country.

TO THE MAN WHO GATHERED THE LARGEST ASSEMBLY OF THE LEGAL MINDS IN THE WORLD, THE PRESIDENT OF THE NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION, THANK YOU FOR THAT HIGHLY INTELLECTUAL AND GREAT INQUISITIVE MIND TO ADDRESS THIS NATION AND THE ASSEMBLAGE OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THE BAR, THANK YOU, GOOD JOB

The traditional rulers here present captains of industries, Senior Government officials, and Distinguished ladies and gentlemen.

Let me accept the respect enunciated by the hon Ministers members of the Bar for focusing on attending to great minds assembled here today.

Mr. President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), former secretary to the government, Boss Mustapha, thank you. I appreciate your presence here today for all you have been doing and the judiciary’s representative.

Tony, Critical Part Analysis On Nigeria’s Economy Recovery was mentioned by you. But as I accept the road map enunciated here and the expectations that will come out of the great theme of this conference, the challenge is all for us to put together A United Nigeria committed to National greatness.

Unless we do it by ourselves, except we employ a change of mindset, we cannot achieve the desired progress. I am not cynical; I am factual. The hope is here.

The critical changes and bold endeavours will be embarked on by this nation. The cooperation and collaboration of all of you in the private sector will drive economic growth and prosperity.

It is a shame not to have electricity in most homes in Nigeria. Agreed, poverty is not scandalous, but it will no longer be acceptable in our country; we must banish it.

To you all, thinking of investing in Nigeria must be a dream, but let us examine how we arrived here! (The Hardship)

Can we continue to service external debts with over 90% of our revenue? This is a path to destruction; we cannot continue that. We will have to make hard decisions.

It takes some flinchy boldness like men and women of the Bar defending our values to make the necessary changes for our country to get up and be respected. If the theme of the conference, GETTING IT RIGHT, must be what Nigerians hope for, if we must achieve greatness as a nation, then we must make BOLD DECISIONS.

The initial stage might be painful, but in the long run, it’s not about you and me but the generations yet unborn.

To the Nigerian Bar Association, the president Yakubu Maikyau Chonoko SAN, OON, our nation’s history is replete with legends of lawyers. You emerge in some of them and legal professions. They have contributed to our freedom, sustained democratic values, and highly impeccable characters committed to nation-building.

Today, you have honoured me to address this gathering. Thank you very much.

I am not a lawyer, but I don’t make too many costly mistakes out of great respect and inducible commitment to humanity. I have been surrounded by brave minds; one is Prince Lateef Fagbemi, The Hon. Attorney General of the Federation.

GETTING IT RIGHT, CHATING THE CAUSE FOR NIGERIAN NATIONS BUILDING IS EXTREMELY APT”.

This is relevant to the present-day situation in our country; we have to get it right, and together is the theme you have placed in a very strategic position in the country. And strategic profession. Together, that’s all My presence here is all about:

“You are learned, and I want to learn”.

Where does the level of drilling done on the inquisitiveness of Nigeria’s intellectual properties take us? Please examine why we are blessed and yet we are lacking?

Change of mindset. We accuse our nation and our previous leaders. We complain a lot about the past. This is not the solution. Look ahead and be determined; God has given us a creative mind and will. Africans are not dangerous people. We must respect our greenback, our passport.

The greatness of our nation depends on our pride that we owe to the next generations, that Nigeria is our country, our motherland. Building these hopes is our responsibility.

I thank you all for your believing in me. Your love for my activism and capacity brought us this far. Men and women of the bar, let’s encourage each other to get it right.

The theme, chatting the cause for Nigeria nations building, is adopted, and the present members of the newly inaugurated cabinet should take a piece of this theme home. Let’s get working with a change of mindset, attitude, and a shift in approach to governance.

Our chief host, the landlord of Abuja, stick to your values; I will want to ride on your metro line. If I ever ask for a free land, decline but deliver for Nigeria’s good and great people.

For us, this number counts: to have Approximately sixteen thousand legal minds, you are here not to merry but to chat the path. My trust and respect are for all of you gathered here. So that together, we can build our country and set Nigeria on the path of greatness.

I promise to do my very best to achieve results.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

President, Federal Republic of Nigeria. GCFR
