Five institution students were abducted by bandits yesterday night, which angered the students to block the road, resulting in several motorists being stranded for several hours.

All Efforts by the security agents to disperse the crowd proved abortive as many of them sat on the main road, calling on the school management and security agencies to take urgent action on the security situation in the institution.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Muazu Abubakar, who was at the scene of the incident, appealed to the students to allow motorists to pass, but they refused to listen to him.

He assured that efforts would be taken by the institution to ensure adequate security, but the students insisted that they would not go anywhere.

Similarly, some trailer truck drivers have also blocked Gusau- Sokoto road along Gada Biyu this morning in a protest against the attitudes of the security agencies who mounted a roadblock on the roads.
